The TAR-3 Resistance Meter System now has an optional RS232 data port. The TAR-3 unit listens to data being transmitted by a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver and stores the NMEA data string, along with the time and the measured resistance, at that location. All of the current GNSS systems are supported (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou).
The NMEA data string is recorded on to the TAR-3's SD Card. Data can be recorded at 10Hz at 9600 Baud (bps) and at higher rates at faster data rates. The RS232 option is supplied with 1m and 2m, 9 pin DSUB cables (M/F).
NOTE: TAR-3 Meters with the RS232 fitted are built to order and have a lead time of 10 to 15 working days. The TAR-3 Resistance Meter does NOT contain a GNSS (GPS) satellite receiver. The RS232 option enables a separate GPS unit to be connected to the TAR-3 Meter.
TAR-3 Systems are available without the RS232 option from stock. See here
(The TAR-3 System is also available with a RS485 port. Please contact us for further information)
