Naalbinding: the Viking Sock from York. A lecture by Martina Tenzer. RM Frobisher showed our latest product, the DFG-1 Magnetic Gradiometer, to members of the group before Martina’s lecture. The lecture was very interesting. Naalbinding is a very old technology, much older than knitting, and can be used to make clothes and nets or baskets/bags out of short lengths of wool, grass or hair.
